The Stress Test
HOW STRESSED ARE YOU?
Below are 34 symptoms of mental stress and 47 symptoms of physiological stress. Once daily for two weeks, stop and go through each list, checking off which symptoms you have experienced during that day. If you consistently experience 20 percent or more from each list, you are experiencing too much stress. First, go to the doctor to rule out the possibility that a physical illness is causing symptoms to appear. Once you’ve ruled out that possibility, you should seek ways to reduce stress in your life. If you are experiencing more that 40 percent of the listed symptoms, your best bet is to seek professional counseling on ways of reducing stress in your life. Just do it. You’re in trouble at that level. You’ll live longer, and you’ll be happier. Happy people are generally healthier and more fit. |
