Vipassana
Inner observation or insight to see within your very own nature and to recognize oneself as it were and is. A very healthy technique for self improvement and inner growth.
This form and art is taught at Igatpuri in various courses. This can, however, be individualized and performed on a 10 minutes set aside daily in your very own home.
Method
Sit in padmasana or sukhasana with your back straight or you may also sit on the chair. Bring in awareness on the breath. With every breath there would be a feeling, expression or thought passing by. Just be watchful in passive state, do not allow questions to cross but simply make mental note. Recognize your emotions, and repressions, every day practice will give you inner clarity.
Benefits : Makes the mind more closer towards senses and sensory organs.
MAUNA
Mauna is one of the greatest arts of life. It has no technique nor authority. When you learn about yourself watch yourself, watch the way you walk, how you eat, what you say - if you are aware of all that in yourself, without any choice, that is part of Mauna. Without Mauna the heart becomes a desert, a wasteland. Mauna is to find out whether the brain with all its activities, all its experience can be absolutely quiet. The highest form of silence is to discipline which comes through awareness of knowing things about inner-self. Mauna is the very essence of life, the essence of daily living. Mauna is seeing and going beyond it
RAJA YOGA
Conquering of mind, senses, passions, thought and reason gives inner light. It implies a complete mastery of the Self, a science of physical and mental control establishing contact with GOD. Maximum time and energy is spent for spiritual awakening and welfare of the fellow human-beings.
NADABRAHMA MEDITATION
Assume Yoni mudra and concentrate on the internal body sounds. In the beginning the sounds are faint but with progression and continued practice it gets louder. Listening to this sound makes the mind internally focused and connected. This is a very beneficial meditative sadhana.
